Hitting the books

Just some primary research from an almost interesting book on the geometry of Designs, what I really found interesting was some of the art pieces in the book, but the book was looking at geometry of the designs, and some of the grid systems that the designs were made from really interested me and continues to drive me forward into the world of perfectly geometrical designs, also I did enjoy looking at the different shapes some of the grid systems made, really an inspiration to me.
Some of the artists in the book are aslo infact very interesting and I shall be creating seperate posts to talk about some of them.

Airside: Moblin

Another of Airsides work, was for a new linux-based operating system for netbooks. I think it was well put together and I think I'm going to comment on something new this time around, the music, the music was intergrated so well with the animation it almost felt like it was making all the information slowly and gently make it to your brain, also the smooth voice over helped alot too.
I will be having sound or music or a voice over in my FMP animation so I do need to take note of this.
If you wish to watch the animation just follow this link http://moblin.org/documentation/moblin-netbook-intro

Airside: The Power Gap

It's fair to say that Airside is on my favorite studio list, most of their work really calls out to me and also reminds of my own work and style. They seem to be a very active and very colourful studio, and I like the humour they have in their work.
One piece of the work Named 'The Power Gap' is an animation that uses some really interesting colour schemes and shapes, I like the use of the typical Male toilet sign character and how they animated it really well. The animation shows off the fact that the studio has some humour about them. Could be the closest thing I want my FMP animation to look like.

The Two Grid Systems

My tutor handed me a book on the geometry of design, which laid out some of the different grids that were used on some famous designs.
I took in two different grid layouts, and stylized them to make it my own.

Musclebeaver : How money works

Amazing animation, I love the concept, the humour and ofcourse the shapes were nicely stylised, I like the origami feel most of the shapes give off. Brilliant animation.
Check it out here http://www.musclebeaver.com/index.php?/video/how-your-money-works/
Enjoy!

Mainframe : Challenge Your World

One of my inspirations for my FMP animation I'm going to create, I loved the almost simple shapes they had with nice texture feelings to them, also I loved the humour in it, almost sarcastic and over the top inventions. Also I think all the colours went very well, it gave the animation the retro feeling it was aiming for.
Due to my lack of knowlege on how to try and upload this video, I shall paste you guys a link,
